Our family is looking for this 1973 Fender Precision bass guitar, as shown in the photo below. In the photo, the bass is being played by it’s owner, Justin Peterson, as his son enjoys playing along. Justin owned the Fender bass for 25 years until he needed some funds, around 2002. An older, respected farmer friend of Justin ‘s offered to buy the guitar with the agreement that when Justin had the funds again, he could buy it back. Justin was grateful for the offer, and since the older gentleman was a trusted member of the community of Alexandria, Mn, he totally took the older gentleman’s word. They had a deal. Several years later, around 2005, Justin flew back to Minnesota on a Friday, excited to get his bass back. Along with the money to pay back his friend , he brought along a banjo to give to the farmer as a gift of appreciation. He called the farmer that Friday night, and asked the farmer if he could come and get the bass the next day, to which the farmer agreed. When Justin called the farmer the next morning to arrange the meeting, the farmer said he had sold the bass guitar that morning to his brother. Justin was shocked and dismayed. The farmer stated, “that’s just how things go sometimes “. He then asked Justin if he could still bring the banjo, to which Justin refused, of course. To this date, we haven’t been able to locate the brother or the bass. Justin has pretty much given up searching for the guitar and case. The family would like it back for sentimental reasons, so we are asking for help from the public, if you know anything of the whereabouts or have seen a guitar like this, to please private message me or a family member. There will be a considerable financial reward if your information leads to the recoup of this instrument. Thank you kindly in advance!
